Based on a wide range of potential health benefits, Vitamin D3 is often the subject of much research and headline news. One way to boost vitamin D levels is through skin exposure to ultraviolet B light, such as that obtained through the use of certain indoor tanning equipment. Studies have revealed that vitamin D deficiency has risen to nearly epidemic rates across the globe – particularly in areas where there is less sunlight – and there are potential health consequences, regardless of whether it occurs in infants, children, adults or the elderly.
