Indoor tanning distributor Heartland Tanning Inc. recently implemented a new state-of-the-art lamp-packing system. The updated shipping materials have an increased cardboard strength of 10 times that of previous supplies. The added proprietary foam packing, used for lamp stability and support, is more user-friendly for the warehouse and the customer. In just two months, the advanced lamp-packing system has accounted for a 75 percent decrease in lamp breakages. Seth Henson, Missouri operations manager, states, “We are really excited about the results of the new improvements. A decrease in lamp breakages has increased customer satisfaction, which is ultimately our goal.”
Additionally, due to renegotiated shipping contracts, Heartland Tanning is now offering lower freight costs on all lamps orders. In some instances, the new 2011 shipping rates are as much as 40 percent less than the fees charged in 2010.
Besides these advances in lamp shipping, Heartland Tanning also reminds salon owners about its special customer-appreciation events. Each quarter, the company designates one day to thank customers for their ongoing loyalty and patronage. Tammy Reed, vice president of distribution, shares, “Each customer-appreciation day brings well-deserved attention to Heartland’s wonderful customers!”
February 18 was the first customer-appreciation day in 2011, when Heartland offered extraordinary tanning lamp and lotion discounts. Highlights included: complimentary lotion samples for all orders placed, free freight on all Rave and TanAmerica lamp orders, and free freight on all California Clothing orders.
The next customer-appreciation day is May 12, 2011.
