This year’s Industry Choice Awards (ICA), sponsored by Island Sun Times (IST), made dozens of indoor tanning product and service providers extremely happy. Winners were named in 28 categories, from lamps to lotions. Only tanning salon professionals were eligible to vote.
Among the winners was our own TanToday.com, which won for “Favorite Discussion Board.” According to Karen Butler, the forum’s community manager, the win was a thrill. “TanToday.com has a rich history as a trusted meeting place where salon owners and other industry professionals can gather any place, any time, to talk shop,” she shares. “There are many individuals who created and nurtured the forum through the years to help it get where it is today. In the last year, we worked hard to honor those roots, while also investing into future growth by upgrading to a new server and an updated interface. Although change is never easy, our supporters helped make the transition successful. We look forward to continuing to navigate the industry with the salon community in the coming years.”
Butler also extended a debt of gratitude to the volunteer moderator team, corporate sponsors and industry participants, whose combined support makes the community possible.
Other winner highlights include the Cosmedico CosmoLux 9K90 for favorite low-pressure > 121W lamp; the 300-520W from Supra Technologies for favorite HP lamp; Ergoline’s Open Sun 1050 and Sundash Radius 252 for favorite HP sunbed and LP stand-up, respectively; TanAmerica by Heartland’s X2v HP for best HP stand-up; the MyMyst from Mystic Tan for spray booth; and the coveted “Best Customer Service” award, which also went to Heartland Tanning.
