Good looks are constantly measured on HotorNot.com, making it the perfect vehicle for a study conducted by Emory University. In the research, nearly 50 photos of women ages 21 to 35 were Photoshopped to make the subjects appear tan. At different times, both the tan and natural skin-tone images were posted on HotorNot.com for public ranking.

The result? The “tan” versions of the women’s photos were voted better-looking 2:1. The findings come as no surprise to indoor tanning enthusiasts.
