In international news, Professor Hakan Olsson – a leading oncologist from Sweden’s Lund University – recently stated that women who tan regularly tend to live longer. Among the benefits of UV exposure, Olsson includes the preventive power of vitamin D against diabetes, blood clots and some tumors.

Referencing a study of 40,000 women, the professor challenged media hype about the dangers of sun exposure, insisting that the benefits of UV exposure are far superior to any potential concerns. One such benefit he mentions is protection against deep vein thromboses – a blood-clot malady that is fatal for 25,000 Britons a year.
