JK-North America's Northwest Sun Academy Seminar came to Seattle for the first time earlier this month. Held on Saturday, December 11, the event featured major industry vendors, educational presentations and a free luncheon and cocktail hour. In addition, vendors gave away door prizes of tanning lotions, lamps and accessories valued at more than $15,000. The grand prize was an Ergoline Flair 32/3 sunbed (MSRP: $10,965), which was won by Deanna Skirving of Under the Sun in Sandy, Ore.
More than 200 people attended the JK-North America Northwest Sun Academy Seminar, thus setting a solid foundation for this regional trade show in order to keep salon owners up-to-date on the latest revenue-generating products and ideas.
The Washington State Convention Center was the venue for this show and, as has been the case everywhere it’s been shown, the brand-new Ergoline BEAUTY ANGEL red light therapy booth was a solid hit. This red light therapy unit, which is exempt from the new tan tax, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for its users while generating season-independent revenue for salon owners. It's perfectly suitable for women and men of all ages and skin types.
The next stop for JK-North America is its third annual Southeast Tanning Expo, January 15-16 at the Hilton Daytona Beach Resort/Ocean Walk Village in Daytona Beach, Fla.
