An opinion poll released by the folks at 60 Minutes and Vanity Fair asked Americans a wide range of questions – from whether they believe in ghosts to their willingness to try an illegal drug.
Of special interest in the poll: Nearly half of the respondents disagree with the idea of taxing tanning bed use. Even more intriguing? That figure jumps to 74 percent when considering input from those ages 65 and older. The second-strongest support group by age was those in the 45-64 range. Whether the older, wiser crowd is anti-tax, pro-tanning – or both – wasn’t explored.
