A study kicks off soon under the lead of Dr. JoAnn Manson, a Harvard Medical School instructor. Said to be the biggest and most recent research project of its type, the study aims to examine 20,000 people during a five-year period. The participants will help scientists explore whether omega-3 fish oil and vitamin D are linked to the prevention of major health issues such as stroke, heart disease and certain cancers.

The subjects will be on the senior side of things – female applicants must be older than 65 and men, age 60 and above. Although the study is headquartered in Boston, the researchers are seeking participants from every state, and no travel will be required. For more information, visit www.vitalstudy.org.
