Maple Valley, Wash.-based Desert Sun Tanning recently received a public acknowledgement from the North Sound Chapter of MDA. MDA is the nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases.
Desert Sun’s Shamrocks Against Dystrophy campaign raised more than $13,000 this year. In part, this will help fund MDA’s worldwide research program. However, the revenue also helps support MDA clinics at Children’s Hospital and University of Washington Medical Center. And it also helps send more than 100 local children with muscular dystrophy to summer camp at no cost to their families.
Desert Tan’s campaign ran through February and March, when they sold and displayed thousands of MDA Shamrock mobiles in their salons.
MDA applauds Desert Tan and its customers for banding together to positively impact their community and its families.
