Two former Anytime Fitness managers are attempting to make a go of 24-hour-franchise access in the world of indoor tanning. They believe the concept will take off based on the popularity of the round-the-clock indoor tanning services they saw offered through the fitness organization.
The first iBeach location opened earlier this year in Waite Park, Minn. Three additional locations – one in Colorado and two in Minnesota – are set to open during the next few months. Currently, the salon is staffed from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., before the after-hours access begins.
The business owners maintain that they have incorporated safety precautions such as fingerprint-recognition technology and in-room panic buttons to help alleviate concerns from potential customers.
Beyond vertical and lay-down tanning, the Waite Park location also features a heat-based body wrap system for weight loss. They also anticipate bringing in red-light therapy.
