While America was busy being mesmerized by the antics of Jersey Shore, a former Seaside Park, N.J., woman was stealing valuables from the state’s tanning salon employees. The 22-year-old alleged thief is accused of targeting tanning salons to steal valuables. She entered three different salons in the township of Toms River during a one-month period and asked to use the bathroom. She would quickly come out of the bathroom, letting the attendant know it was a mess and required immediate attention. As the salon employee went back to check the status of the rest room, the suspect went behind the front counter, grabbing the employee’s purse and fleeing.
The woman is thought to be responsible for committing the same con in several nearby counties. The stolen bags carried a range of items ranging from cash and jewelry to cameras and cell phones. Some of the goods were found in Newark, N.J., but some of the stolen credit cards were used before they could be cancelled. There is a warrant out for the woman’s arrest.
