A 22-year-old tanning salon customer will be sentenced in March for invading the privacy of an 18-year-old female customer in an adjacent room. The man pled guilty after admitting that he used his camera phone to capture a picture of the woman while she was tanning. He allegedly used a chair in his tanning room – stepping on it to reach over the wall for the photo. He later admitted to taking the photo and says he erased the photo almost immediately.
The young woman alerted the staff about the incident when it occurred, and the police were brought in. She reported seeing a shadow and hearing the sound of a photo being taken as she was exiting the tanning unit. Authorities matched a footprint on the chair in the man’s tanning room with the bottom of the peeper’s shoes.
The incident took place at Electric Beach By GQ tanning salon in Winona, Minn.
