A tanning salon owner in Moline, Ill., has opened a new tanning salon in the spot of a former one that closed with much controversy. According to the source, the salon sold tanning minutes to customers even though the owner knew customers wouldn’t be able to use the minutes. Some customers even were locked inside the Davenport, Iowa, as it was closing its doors.
However, Teresa McChane, the owner for the former Rio Tan, thinks her customer base will give her a second chance. She called local media to announce the opening, even though she reported eluded them when her first business was closing. She will soon change the Rio Tan signs to reflect her new brand.
A competitor purchased Rio Tan’s client list when Rio Tan became defunct this past summer, but McChane is hoping to reach out to her former clients, as well as to new ones.
