Lynn Robert, a key executive at Jonesboro, Ark.-based Premiere Tans Inc., is retiring at age 39.

Robert began his career in the video and indoor tanning industries with Henry and Mary Jo Turner at 14 in Walnut Ridge Ark. Then, after Robert finished high school, he started his own used-movie and -game sales company. In 1992, Lynn joined Premiere Video and became manager of the store at the age of 22.

He helped to develop 10 video stores across Arkansas and helped bring the indoor tanning business to Premiere. The first store was a brainchild of Robert, Henry Turner, Eric Haynes Jerry Deveney and Porter Hurt. Within a year—under Robert’s guidance and effort—the company had expanded to four additional locations and Robert became general manager and vice president of operations.

Over the next six years, Robert managed the operation of 10 video stores while opening indoor tanning stores. In 2002, Premiere Video sold its video stores to Movie Gallery and moved into full-time property management of four retail strip malls and development of 12 indoor tanning salons.

Beyond his work with Premiere Tans, Robert also found the time to devote himself to civic service—his passion being Rotary International. Robert has served on several committees and worked enthusiastically with the organization to bring Rotarians from several different countries to Arkansas to visit and learn about the U.S. He even participated in the program himself with a month-long visit to India.

Robert and his wife, Angela, will now make their home in Eureka Springs, Ark., where Robert will continue his civic service duties and “will look forward to learning new things, studying, participating in community services, pursuing other projects and getting to spend time with my lovely wife."

All the staff at Premiere Tans thanks Robert for more than 17 years of dedication.
