According to a recent survey from the National Association for Business Economics released today, the majority of experts (74 percent) predict that the recession will be over by the third quarter of this year (19 percent say the recession will end in the final months of 2009, while the remaining believe it will be the first quarter of 2010).

However, an “end” to the recession does not mean all will be well. Recovery will take time, experts agree, and it will get worse before it gets better. Unemployment is expected to top off this year at 9.1 percent (up from the 5.8 percent of the year before). In turn, consumers will curb spending, hampering an economic turnaround.
