Several new laws will take effect July 1 in Mississippi, including one that regulates teen tanning. HB 214 requires anyone 17 or younger to get written permission from a parent or guardian before tanning indoors. The parental permission is valid for a year and can be revoked at any time. The law also requires a parent or guardian to accompany someone 13 or younger when using a tanning bed.
