Results from a recent survey show that one in five tanners plan to tan indoors more this summer because they can’t afford a vacation.
Cancer Research UK surveyed more than 2,000 people and found that:
- 34 percent said they were less likely to go on a sunny summer vacation this year due to the recession
- 19 percent said they planned to increase their tanning bed usage
- 29 percent said they would be disappointed if they did not get a tan
- 46 percent said a tan makes them look healthier
- 22 percent said a tan makes them feel more attractive
