Ohio State Rep. Courtney Combs is trying to reintroduce a bill requiring that tanners younger than 18 provide a written prescription from a physician before being allowed to tan indoors.

This would be a new version of HB 230, a bill which was first introduced in 2007 by Sen. Combs but defeated in committee. The new bill will be brought before a different committee this time around—health instead of commerce—which Combs hopes will give the bill a better chance of being passed, reports Cleveland.com.

Current law requires under-18 tanners provide written consent from a parent or guardian that is signed at the facility and details the number of sessions approved.
