According to federal data, unemployment rates have climbed higher than 10 percent in four states. Only Louisiana's jobless rate decreased, falling to 5.1 percent (0.4 percentage point lower than the previous month).
The state-by-state unemployment report came after the government reported that employers slashed 651,000 jobs across the nation in February and a revised 655,000 jobs in January—bringing job losses over the last six months to more than 3.3 million.
