Quest Diagnostics, the nation's largest medical lab company, says it recently discovered a problem that caused inaccuracies in vitamin D deficiency tests, but that the issue has been solved.
According to the Star Tribune Minneapolis-St. Paul, the lab flagged approximately seven percent of tests as questionable, noting that the readings obtained on those results were higher than they should have been. Quest then notified thousands of doctors who had ordered tests for their patients about the problem and offered free tests for patients whose results were in question.
