AfterGlow Tanning salon opened its doors with a month-long grand-opening celebration. Jeff and Brittney Harkins, owners of the Powder Springs, Ga.-based salon, said they wanted to make their opening special and decided that two free tan weekends were a great way to kick things off.
“By doing this, we allowed potential clients to come in and try out any of our UV beds for free,” Brittney says. “During this time, we also developed our ‘Lotion Promotions’ marketing concept, in which we feature a specific lotion company, and host giveaways and contests with the products. This generates excitement among all the tanners. During our celebration, Devoted Creations was nice enough to provide us with posters, educational material and free samples for all of our clients! Clearly, in the world of tanning, Devoted Creations is a well-known brand name, and I think this made a big difference in the overall success of our grand-opening event.”
AfterGlow features a combination of UV and sunless tanning options, as well as spa treatments. The salon’s slogan is “Get your Glow On,” and the Harkins pride themselves in educating their clients, and providing them with top-of-the-line products and service.
