MassageLuxe, a franchised massage therapy salon concept offering high-quality, affordable massages in an upscale environment, is expanding nationally. Founded by The Tan Company’s Todd Beckman, MassageLuxe opened its first salon in Rock Hill, Mo., this past April.
Beckman plans to follow the same process he implemented for The Tan Company: Develop a national brand recognized for “five-star” facilities that provide first-class massage therapy and outstanding customer service.
According to Beckman, the company recently signed a 22-location agreement in St. Louis; an 11-store agreement in Memphis, Tenn.; a 22-store agreement in North and South Carolina; a 22-store agreement in Chicago; and a 33-store agreement in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. One developer has also purchased the rights for 22 locations in Kansas City, Mo., for both MassageLuxe and The Tan Company—the largest dual-concept deal in either company’s history.
“It’s an exciting time for MassageLuxe for sure and it’s only going to continue,” Beckman says. “People are seeking out affordable stress reducers now more than ever and, through MassageLuxe, clients can have a luxurious yet economical experience. Meanwhile, owners have a proven business model and a seemingly unlimited opportunity for future growth at a modest investment.”
The initial investment for a MassageLuxe location ranges from $181,000 to $422,250, not including real estate costs. However, the company also offers an innovative, cost-effective program for area developers and the MassageLuxe's membership-revenue model assures franchisees a high level of consistency in revenues on a year-round basis.
