Succasunna, N.J.-based Copper Tans went all out to support Breast Cancer Awareness this past October with a “Tan for the Cure” promotion. Owners Nicki Flora and Jimmy Distasio were pleased to reach their goal of raising $1,000 for the Saint Clare’s Women’s Health Center.
Copper Tans’ month-long fundraiser included selling breast-cancer awareness ribbons—tanners were able to purchase a ribbon and display it on the wall of the salon with their name. In addition, with each ribbon purchase, the tanner was entered into a drawing to win free tanning sessions or lotions (donated by Devoted Creations). Coca Cola also helped show its support by donating 10 cases of its Fuze breast-cancer awareness drink to the salon.
The month-long event wrapped up the last weekend of October with a $19.99 full-body spray-tan special (all proceeds went to the breast-cancer awareness fund) and each who stopped by the salon received a free sample of Devoted Creations lotion and a bracelet. In addition, anyone who purchased a package or spray tan had the option to donate an additional $4.99 to the fund and receive a gift bag of Devoted Creations samples, eyewear and other items.
