According to MarketWatch's second annual ranking, the following cities made the list of the top 10 places in the country for business:
- Minneapolis-St. Paul
- Boston
- Denver
- Washington, D.C.
- Richmond
- Charlotte
- Columbus
- Nashville
- Dallas
- San Francisco
Among the most notable results, Columbus, Ohio got a 26-point gain and moved into the top 10. Seattle gained 27 points, making the biggest upward move. Tampa-St. Pete fell the farthest, dropping 15 spaces. Other bad falls came from Providence, R.I.; Birmingham, Ala.; San Diego; Cleveland; Cincinnati; and Buffalo, N.Y.
