Studies Weekly, publisher of “textbooks” in newspaper and magazine format, has partnered with Woogi World, a safe children’s virtual world, to provide elementary students with the opportunity to cast their vote for the next president of the United States.

The student presidential election is being held today, and at least 4 million students are expected to vote. The election will be administered by school faculty via the Internet so that only kindergarten through sixth-grade students will have voting access. Polls will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in each time zone. As the polls close in each time zone, the color of each state will change on the electoral map to blue or red.

Similar student elections have been notoriously accurate in predicting the outcomes of actual elections. It is believed this is because students usually vote the same as their parents.

Anyone can view the voting results for each of the 50 states at www.studiesweeklyvote.com throughout the day of the election.
