Desert Sun Tanning and Palm Beach Tan are turning up the heat as they jointly rank No. 1 for Tanning Franchise on Entrepreneur Magazine’s “2008 Annual Franchise 500” listing. Adding to the sizzle, Palm Beach Tan secured the No. 19 spot on the “Franchise Business Review” list of 50 top-rated franchise systems for its outstanding franchisee satisfaction.

“It is an honor to be recognized by highly coveted and reputable franchise-industry publications,” says Steve Berkman, vice president of franchise services. “We are here to stay on top as the No. 1 tanning-salon franchise by continuing to offer the best in products, services and customer care. We look forward to continued success and aggressive growth in local markets across the country.”

In December 2006, Desert Sun Tanning Salons became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Palm Beach Tan, Inc. and continues to operate under the Desert Sun Tanning Salons brand. Together, more than 247 corporate and franchise locations operate throughout the country with more than 240 signed development agreements slated to open during the next several years.

Raising the bar in quality customer care and innovation, both brands feature a full range of services including three levels of tanning beds, UV-Free Mystic Tan and premium skincare products.

“With nearly 30 million Americans turning to indoor tanning as an alternative to outdoor tanning, we want to make sure our clients are receiving the best in customer service and care,” Berkman adds. “Our certified consultants take the time to promote responsible indoor tanning by assessing clients’ personal criteria and informing them of their threshold for maximum sun exposure.”

Desert Sun Tanning Salons and Palm Beach Tan franchisees receive a multitude of support tools including professional real estate and construction advice, comprehensive training, cutting-edge operating systems and innovative marketing support and strategies.
