Rejuvasun With Omnilux Debuts April 28

04/10/2008

Indianapolis-based ETS Tan has partnered with Carlsbad, Calif.-based Photo Therapeutics, Inc. to create the first indoor tanning bed that features FDA-cleared Omnilux light therapy technology to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and rejuvenate skin in the face and neck areas.

The new Rejuvasun with Omnilux is a commercial-grade spa bed that now features light-therapy panels. Consumers have the option to experience full-body tanning and light therapy sessions for the face and neck areas simultaneously, tanning sessions alone or light therapy sessions alone.

“ETS Tan debuted the first Rejuvasun spa bed in late 2006—a marketplace first,” says ETS TAN CEO Bill Pipp. “Now, with the second-generation Rejuvasun featuring Omnilux, ETS Tan again introduces a marketplace first—an FDA-cleared, medically certified light therapy device. We’re excited about the opportunity to offer medically proven technology to consumers through salon and spa owners.”

Rejuvasun with Omnilux uses the same technology as its parent device, Photo Therapeutics' Omnilux Light Therapy system, which is used by 3,200 dermatologists and plastic surgeons worldwide.

“Omnilux Light Therapy has many advantages,” says Sue D’Arcy, president of Photo Therapeutics. “Through light therapy, or photomodulation, the body stimulates its own cellular mechanisms and improves the firmness of the skin, including tone and clarity. Omnilux therapy is used to treat a wide range of dermatological conditions including acne, photodamage and wound-healing after elective surgery.”

Omnilux light therapy is non-invasive, using visible red LEDs at 633 nanometer wavelengths and invisible, near-infrared LEDs at 830 nanometer wavelengths to stimulate the body's natural production of collagen. According to clinical studies by Photo Therapeutics, after just 12 weeks of sessions, nearly 85 percent of users reported improvements in skin tone and 74 percent of users reported visible reductions in fine lines and wrinkles.

D'Arcy adds that the partnership with ETS Tan gives salon clients access to the same light therapy treatments they would receive in a dermatologist's office at an affordable price.

The new Rejuvasun with Omnilux will be available for commercial purchase beginning April 28. ETS Tan is accepting pre-orders on its Web site at www.etstan.com.
