Cosmedico Light, Inc. announced that Kevin Apgar, vice president of Cosmedico from 2005 to present, has been named president of Cosmedico, effective Jan. 1, 2010. Apgar joined Cosmedico in July of 2001 as director of sales and new product development. His enthusiasm for Cosmedico products and the indoor tanning industry quickly won him acceptance with customers and staff alike. Apgar was named vice president of sales in July of 2005 and quickly assumed a larger role in shaping company goals and direction. In 2008, Apgar joined the Indoor Tanning Association (ITA) board of directors. Apgar’s promotion to president of Cosmedico is the natural progression of his continuing participation in Cosmedico’s future. Prior to joining Cosmedico, Apgar served as finance manager of Zefer Corporation in Boston. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Rhode Island. Apgar and his wife Mandy have a daughter named Grace, and a dog named Gus. Butch York, former president of Cosmedico, will remain with the company for at least one year as president of the NTS Solar Division and will concentrate on Cosmedico’s expanding diversification into solar-thermal technology using NARVA vacuum tubes and the emerging U.S. solar market.
