In November, Four Seasons hosted its first regional symposium and open house. At the symposium, salon owners enjoyed a hands-on experience with new products, had the opportunity to speak one-on-one with vendors and were transported by limousine to Four Seasons for a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility. Industry veterans, including JK North America’s Jerry Deveney, were in attendance for a “Talk with the Experts” panel discussion regarding successful sales and marketing initiatives. Salon owners were able to ask real-world questions about the distribution channel and ways to thrive in today’s economy. Two other industry veterans, Sarah Walker and Susan Carlton of Australian Gold, presented a trove of marketing tools geared toward modernizing selling techniques to address today’s shopper. Attendees received the 2009 Four Seasons catalog and a matching tote filled with promotional gifts, and had the opportunity to win a variety of prizes, including an iPod, product displays and a Sundash 232 Pro tanning bed. The lucky winners of the bed were Bob and Ruth Ann Rusie of Greenwood, Ind.-based Gold Coast Tanning and Spa. Four Seasons will host two more regional symposiums—the Midwest Regional Symposium in Springfield, Ill. (Jan. 9-10, 2009) and the Southeastern Regional Symposium in Winston-Salem, N.C. (Jan. 30-Feb. 1, 2009). Seating is limited, so make your reservations today at www.fstanning.com or by calling your Four Seasons sales representative at 800.325.2769.
