Boob Job Among Tanning Promotion Prizes

The Tan Company is offering a breast augmentation valued at nearly $6,000 as a prize in its bid to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records. The Forest Park, Mo.-based franchisor is attempting to set a new record for the “largest bikini parade.” The event will take place on May 1, 2010, at the St. Louis Microfest Upper Muny parking lot.

The organization anticipates drawing 500 participants who will then walk a mile in their two-piece swimsuit. Men are welcome to join their significant other in the event – but will also be required to don a bikini.

Registered participants receive five free tans to prepare for the event and the opportunity to win something in a raffle of more than $24,000 worth of prizes. The Tan Company felt the promotion would provide a fun event for the community with the added bonus of a chance to win high-ticket prizes. Beyond the boob job, other prizes include a Zerona Body Contouring Procedure from The Youthful Body ($3,500), Lower Leg Laser Hair Removal from Ideal Image ($9,063), one year of unlimited tanning from The Tan Company ($400) and a one-year massage package from MassageLuxe ($888).

The current record for the largest bikini parade was achieved last November by 287 participants in an event organized by Kellogg’s Special K in Johannesburg, South Africa.
