50,000 Tanned For Hollywood Tan’s TanNation Launch Promotion

Hollywood Tans recently hosted “TanNation Independence Day” to celebrate the launch of its new loyalty program, TanNation. During the day-long promotion, participating Hollywood Tans salons tanned 50,0000 people, the largest number of tanners in one day in its history.

“The turnout at our salons was phenomenal,” said Lewis Shender, president and CEO of Hollywood Tans. “Many of our salons reported long lines of new and returning customers eager to take advantage of the promotion and join the party. While the indoor tanning industry is undergoing dramatic changes and many inexperienced retailers are suffering in this economy, the success of our TanNation Independence Day initiative demonstrates what can happen when a respected, national brand conducts a strong marketing effort benefiting its customers.”

The TanNation program is designed to develop a dynamic online tanning community targeting men and women ages 21 to 32 through Facebook and other relevant Web sites. The company plans to develop follow-up promotions and events that will build on its TanNation concept and further engage consumers.
