We Will Keep Fighting
From its inception, the ITA’s mission has been to make sure that tanning salons are able to operate in a favorable regulatory and business climate. And, as unlikely as it may seem to some, there is a powerful movement operating nationwide that has one goal: to put us all out of business.
This year alone, 27 states are attempting to place restrictions on this industry—such as pending legislation for under-14 bans, under-16 bans or under-18 bans. If no one is there to mobilize local salons, to hire experts to help navigate the legislative process, and to present the tanning industry’s side of the story to policymakers and the media, I can assure you that policymakers would have no qualms about passing these restrictions.
That is why it is so important to have a strong national trade association. I want to thank you for your continued support and confidence in what we do. You can be sure we will keep fighting for you.
