Snooki Takes Anderson Cooper Spray Tanning

It may only be day two of Anderson Cooper’s new syndicated daytime TV show, “Anderson,” but the hunky star wasted no time making two pivotal PR moves: taking off his shirt and hosting MTV’s “Jersey Shore” sensation Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi as a guest.

Ironically enough, Twitter may have been party responsible for the hook-up, as earlier this year, @Sn00ki reached out to Cooper via a tweet. Back then, CNN anchor Cooper had taken a jab at Snooki – one of many, actually – stating that anyone who had ever paid her (whether MTV or another company for an endorsement) deserved to be on his “Ridiculist.”

Cooper later made amends by putting himself on the list, reading selected excerpts from Snooki’s first book, “A Shore Thing,” and giving the sassy star props for sealing a second book deal – pointing out for his audience that he personally had only published one book thus far.

Snooki returned the love via tweet, stating, “Thanks for reading my NY Times Bestseller Mista Anderstand Cooper. Love to help you get a 2nd book. Let's go tanning and talk about it.”

During her appearance this week on the New York-based TV show, Cooper and additional guest Kathy Griffin recounted the tweet, delighting in the lingo they assumed Snooki chose in saying “Mista Anderstand Cooper.” Snooki came clean, however, and admitted it was merely a type-o. Cooper lamented that he thought it meant she really “ander-stood” him.

The two made good on the Twitter invite, however, visiting area powerhouse Beach Bum Tanning. Although Cooper didn’t have a “situation” on his hands, he was at the beck and call of Snooki, who unexpectedly signed up for a teeth whitening service when the two arrived. (The video shows a restless Cooper, waiting upwards of 20 minutes for Snooki to finish the service before joining him for his first-ever sunless airbrush service).

Cooper was timid about donning a hair net, but showed no hesitation in taking off his shirt as an impressed Snooki looked on. She confessed she didn’t realize “Mr. Anderson” had muscles.

The tech explained the body contouring process and how he’d be accentuating what Cooper “already has.” Snooki mentioned she wasn’t in need of any cleavage contouring during her sunless sessions.

In the end, Cooper pulled down his waistband slightly to reveal – with some delight and awe – a distinct tan line. It’ll be interesting to keep an eye on the new daytime host to see if he keeps up his new look.
