At the end of 2007, Heraeus Noblelight’s Original Hanau SunCare announced the formation of HN Sunlight GmbH—a new joint venture with NARVA Light Sources GmbH & Co. KG. Heraeus Noblelight, a technology- and market-leader in high-pressure lamps, will operate as the exclusive manufacturer of tanning lamps for the company. NARVA, a tube specialist, will supply products in the low-pressure range from its factory in Brand Erbisdorf, Germany. Each company holds a 50-percent share of HN Sunlight, which began operations Nov. 1, 2007. The joint venture enables better competence in the development of new products, while an optimization of stores and dispatch allows even more flexibility for the dealer and the manufacturer. The sales team for dealers and equipment manufacturers continues in Hanau. HN Sunlight will sell Original Hanau products worldwide. As an independent glassworks plant, HN Sunlight offers expertise and know-how, and ensures that the tube manufacturer is independent of any suppliers. “With the partnership between the technology leader in high-pressure lamps, Heraeus Noblelight, and the tube specialist, NARVA, new integrated tanning solutions will become possible in the future,” says Heraeus Noblelight’s CEO Rainer Kuechler. For customers, this means that they can expect even more consulting competence and an enlarged product portfolio of excellent quality from Original Hanau SunCare. As partners, Heraeus Noblelight and NARVA Light Sources will stand firmly behind the Original Hanau SunCare brand. All tanning lamps will continue to come from the Hanau factory, and Heraeus Noblelight’s accredited laboratory will be utilized by HN Sunlight for testing purposes. Original Hanau SunCare’s products are tested extensively—every lamp is ignited and operated before it leaves the factory—in a certified measuring laboratory. This ensures that the products are of the highest quality, and that they meet Heraeus Noblelight’s standards for power output and operating life. “We have integrated quality checking and the quality scanner from Original Hanau SunCare into our production,” says NARVA’s Managing Director Guenter Errmann. “We are very much aware of the high-quality requirements, and we are motivated to satisfy the market’s expectations.” The sales team of HN Sunlight will continue to look after customers from Hanau and sell all products under the Original Hanau SunCare brand. In sales and marketing, Original Hanau keeps its focus on the specialized distributors. “With the friendly and competent Hanau-based sales team, we will continue to do everything for our distributors and OEMs,” says Markus Berghoefer, CEO of HN Sunlight GmbH. “For the joint development of new products, we can now offer even greater capability for innovative solutions.” Sales Manager Bernd Gerber says the companies are confident they can continue to offer tanning lamps in the high-pressure and low-pressure sectors that are among the best in the market. “We will continue to set an important standard with the UV guarantee,” he says. “In this way, we can continue to reinforce the tanning salon’s credibility so that their customers know they can rely on the salon’s equipment to provide them with the best tanning results.”
