The Beauty Of Mystic Tan

The company that made spray-on sunless tanning Hollywood’s best-kept beauty secret is out to make getting a Mystic Tan even more convenient and rewarding. The new line of Mystic Tan home-care products, innovative equipment and new solution formulations may signal a new age of beautiful, bronzed skin.

A New Collection

This year, the company introduced the new Mystic Tan Collection™ of home-care sunless tanning products that provide customers even more ways to get the company’s signature golden glow.

“We’ve innovated sunless tanning with our automated systems, and that same innovative spirit has been used to create the Mystic Tan Collection,” Troy Cooper, company founder and president, says.

The new collection includes pre-sunless tanning products MysticReady™, HyperMoist™ and HyperTan™; MysticSunless™ self-tanners available in lotion, foam and spray formulas; and post-sunless tanning products MysticFresh™, MysticLife™,MysticGlo Body™,and MysticGlo Face™.The products have a high return on investment and complement salons’ automated sunless tanning services to help increase sales while providing customers with a complete suite of high-end skincare merchandise.

“Our top objective all along has been to create products that provide good end-results,” Cooper says. “Therefore, our new collection of sunless products has skincare components to enhance a tan’s color and longevity.”

For instance, the new HyperMoist presunless moisturizer facilitates a better color by increasing skin’s ability to retain moisture and enhancing DHA penetration. The MysticSunless self-tanners are convenient for use anytime, anywhere and create a streak-free, natural-looking sunless tan. The products in the post-sunless category enhance the UV-free tanning experience by keeping skin smelling fresh by capturing and encapsulating the reaction odor caused by a developing sunless tan, and enhance and extend the life of a sunless tan.

“We branched out into retail home-care sunless tanning products to expand the concept of sunless tanning, but our commitment to providing the most efficient and affordable automated equipment possible for salons is stronger than ever,” Cooper says.

An Innovative Spirit

The new Mystic Tan Innovation Series Tanning Booth is the updated version of the booth that launched the sunless tanning craze. The equipment is loaded with new features and innovations that have been integrated directly into the booth’s design.

However, the good news doesn’t only apply to salons looking to purchase top-of-the-line equipment. The company will roll out a selection of affordable automated sunless units that deliver the same results as their high-end counterparts.

“Mystic Tan’s No. 1 goal is to continually reduce the entry-level price of equipment so salons can get into automated sunless tanning at a lower-cost level, which will encourage more to do so,” Cooper says.

All the automated sunless equipment will deliver the same basic high-quality tan. The differences between the low- and high-end models can be likened to driving a Chevrolet or a Cadillac—both will get you where you want to go, but how they do it and the experience of getting there is different.

The company also offers the MyMyst System that provides customers a wide range of personal choice tanning options.

A Bright Future

“The public is continuing to gain more and more confidence in the quality and consistency of sunless tanning, and that is positive business indicator,” Cooper says.

The company expects a greater percentage of the population will begin to use sunless tanning in anticipation for special events, to maintain a year-long tan or to enhance a conventional tan. If numbers could truly speak for themselves, they might say the future of Mystic Tan is golden.

“Automated sunless tanning is currently a $200-million business, and I don’t think it’s a stretch to forecast it will reach $2 billion or more,” he says.
