Creating Options For Success

Since August 2002, the focus of MagicTan
LLC has been to build top-quality sunless equipment that is backed by efficient
customer service. In mid-2004, the company presented its two newest models to
better accommodate the needs of tanning salon and spa owners.
The two new models incorporate the best in MagicTan’s
original sunless unit, the MT3000™, and build upon those positive features.
The MT3500™ is considered a fully loaded model, while the MT2000™ allows
salon owners to option the features they need to better service their clientele.
“The MT2000 works the same at the MT3500, and has the same
technology,” says Tim Niedel, president and CEO of MagicTan. “The tanning customer is going to get the same beautiful
tan, it’s just that the MT3500 has all of the bells and whistles.”
The MT3500 comes equipped with three levels of tanning, an LCD
diagnostics package, a voice prompting/MP3 programmable player and dual-solution
capability.
Once people are experienced at sunless tanning, they want more
and want to look darker, Niedel says. The three levels of tanning allow salon
owners to program the equipment to put more solution onto customers, adding to
the deepness of their tans.
The LCD diagnostics package is designed with remote and local
diagnostics. “The technician can plug a computer into this machine and the
machine will tell you exactly what’s wrong with it, if anything,” Niedel
says. “If they don’t have a local technician, they can plug the machine into
a modem and engineers from our plant can tell the salon owner the exact problem
with the machine.”
A voice prompting/programmable MP3 player gives the client
instructions within the booth. A salon owner also can program messages that
direct clients to an attendant on their way out who can help them decide on
additional products to keep their tans looking great until their next visit.
The dual-solution option consists of MagicTan’s clear and
bronzer UV-free solutions. Customers have the choice of six different tans when
the solutions are paired together. Dual-solution capability is the only option
not available on the MT2000.
The MT3500 includes a 3-year warranty on the capsule, one year
on electrical and mechanical parts, and 180 days on labor. The warranty for the
MT2000 is two years on the capsule, one year on the electrical and mechanical
parts, and 90 days on labor.
Dressed in the company’s signature burgundy-and-blue color
scheme, both models also can be customized with nearly any type of salon
branding.
Customer Service
MagicTan’s focus continuously has been about delivering
quality machines through its 80 worldwide distributors, as well as providing
hefty marketing support.
“We just sent out a salon marketing kit with ad slicks,
radio and TV commercials, press releases, and advice on how to do a PR campaign,”
Niedel says. MagicTan also ships a bi-annual newsletter called Salon Magic that
includes promotional ideas, technical tips and insight on what other industry
professionals are doing to maintain success at their salons.
The company also has full-time employees who call salons to
ensure that equipment is in tiptop condition and inquire about any extra support
owners might need.
Niedel believes the right mix of impeccable customer service
and high product standards keeps MagicTan on the right track.
“We’re known for great engineering, we’re known for
quality, and we’re known for backing up our machine,” Niedel says. “We
combined the best machine and the best application process with the best
solution.”
