International Tanning Equipment (ITE)/HEX
International
Tanning Equipment (ITE) has added several innovations to its HEX vertical
tanning systems. One such change is the new exclusive Smart Lamp II Reflector,
with its 8- to 10-minute tanning sessions. The Smart Lamp II targets the face,
torso and lower legs separately, allowing the entire body to tan evenly.
The HEX also incorporates new reflective material inside the unit, which
supplements the reflectors themselves for more intense tanning without the
operating expense of running additional lamps. In keeping with the theme of
light, the HEX has an attractive glow to the logo, inviting attention from
customers and adding an appealing visual enhancement.
The air circulation system in the HEX is designed to maintain a comfortable
temperature inside the unit during tanning sessions. ITE has added a new Fan
Delay Relay system that enhances the HEX's ability to stay cool and
comfortable--while saving energy. The HEX's new digital odometer makes sure
salons always have instant knowledge of how long the current lamps have been in
use. The unit now also comes with a remote digital timer, so sessions always are
accurately timed with the push of a button.

VHR 200 180-watt lamps. According to the company, the Sunami delivers incredible
tanning results in a short session. The longer 200-millimeter lamps are eight
inches longer than standard VHR lamps, which provide for true full-body coverage
and more effective tanning of the face and legs than standard VHR lamps.
Built in Germany, the Sunami features a steel outer shell for strength and
durability. The unit has a rounded, graceful look with no visible external
screws or rivets. The interior is oval-shaped, which ensures that all parts of
the tanner's body are about equal distance from the lamps, for an even and
uniform tan. Two handles are provided for balance and for tanners who prefer to
raise their arms while tanning.
The Sunami boasts a powerful 3300 CFM axial ventilator that cools the unit
and the customer, a perforated steel plate mounted just under the fan to protect

Extreme Tanning
Extreme
Tanning presents three new revolutionary tanning units for the new season: the
Ambassador Pulse, a 50-lamp standup; ECS Enjoy, a 48-lamp, six facial unit; and
ESC Sienna, 32-lamp, three-facial unit.
Each unit features a patented operating system compiled of ECS (Electronic
Control Systems) control board. This patented technology alleviates the need for
any ballast. The lack of ballast means the lack of heat and weight. A bed with
ECS technology produces approximately 80-percent less heat, which means
significantly less air conditioning requirements for a salon.
The ECS unit is designed to automatically change the UV content of the lamps
to retain up to 100-percent output in the event any other lamp in the unit goes
out. In addition, the advanced operating system does not require expensive
upgrade electrical service. Beds containing ECS technology only need seven
seconds to warm up to full capacity from a cold start, compared to about six
minutes for other systems.
ECS-powered lamps carry a manufacturer's guarantee to operate for 2,000
hours; however, they can run up to 3,000 to 4,000 hours, resulting in a huge
savings on lamp replacement costs, says the company. The lamps use 75 percent
less power on the low-pressure lamps, drastically lowering opening and operating
costs of new or existing salons. Additionally, the lamps never turn black on the
ends, keeping a cleaner and newer appearance. The units are T-Max compatible.
