What do Sharpie, Twitter, the band Coldplay and the TV show “60 Minutes” have in common?
Well, Sharpie is Twittering, and Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin, just happened to hear about it on “60 Minutes” while he was writing song lyrics with his green Sharpie. How’s that for an explanation.
It seems that social media has been a great way to get customers talking, Promo Magazine reports. Big companies are using everything from blogs to YouTube to—you guessed it—Twitter to connect with their customers and get feedback. And, perhaps best of all, they are inexpensive marketing tools.
