Green Companies Suffering Worst

Companies founded with green missions and purposes are feeling the pain of a bad economy now—perhaps worse than their traditional counterparts are. In fact, the current situation parallels the dotcom bust in the 1990s, according to an article in Newsweek.

From alternative-energy companies to green mutual funds, organizations founded on the green movement are taking an extra-hard hit these days. Among those affected is alternative-energy hedge fund BP Capital owned by oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens, which has lost about $2 billion. Solar companies may fare the best among green companies, and green mutual funds may be on their way up after hitting the bottom.
