Having trouble defining who should oversee what in the family biz? You’re not the only one. A recent Q&A posted on CNNMoney.com poses a question from a father-and-son partnership regarding creating structure and assigning roles.
CNNMoney staff writer Emily Maltby notes that defining clear roles based upon each partner and family member’s expertise is important—just as important as then staying out of areas that do not include your expertise. She also recommends defining roles/tasks by area, including: operations, sales, office administration, finance and accounting, and the deciding as a group who is best suited for what.
