The Australian Gold Power of Choice selling program teaches salon owners and employees how to work with their clients to determine the right tanning formula for their tanning needs and skin type. The Australian Gold training team of successful sales consultants travels the United States throughout the year, conducting the seminars for thousands of salon owners who want to maximize their profit potential. The presentations are tailored to fit the needs of every salon owner, regardless of the size of their business. Pederson also believes that her sales in AG products are high because customers can't find Australian Gold products outside of select tanning salons. Her top-selling products last year were HOT! lotion and Golden Bronzing Glaze formula. Both products are high-end lotions that promote a deep, dark tan for the customer and guarantee high profits for the salon owner.

Exciting Co-Op Advertising Program

Australian Gold has made it possible for salon owners to earn thousands of dollars in cash back for their total lotion and advertising expenses. The company's Spiff promotion and co-op advertising programs have been designed with the needs of the salon owner in mind.

In fact, several salon owners have taken part in the Australian Gold Co-op advertising program and have experienced lucrative benefits. The Australian Gold Co-op program has been paying back thousands of dollars to salon owners since 1999 when the program was initiated.

There are two programs that can reap hundreds or thousands of rebate dollars for salon owners. The first is the Australian Gold "Power of Choice" Salon Claim. With this claim, a salon can earn $1 per bottle on any of the Australian Gold products from the Premium, Best and Better categories on The Power of Choice chart. Rob Esposito, owner of Tantopia Tanning Centers in North Wales, Penn., says the Salon Spiff program is a great way to motivate his staff to sell more lotions. "The Australian Gold Spiff program is great because you know that every bottle you buy, you get $1 back," he says. "This money in your pocket is a great incentive to buy and sell these great products that are so easy to sell."

The salon co-op advertising program was created specifically for professional indoor tanning salons. Salons can earn reimbursement for the exclusive advertising of Australian Gold products. According to the company, the amount of reimbursement is based on the salon's advertising and the salon's yearly purchases (Nov. 1, 2001 through Oct. 31, 2002) of Australian Gold lotions.

Last year, Janice and George Ray opened their tanning salon and began selling Australian Gold products. They heard about the advertising co-op program through their distributor and realized that it would benefit their business. The first year of business they followed the co-op guidelines and were surprised when they received thousands of dollars back in advertising co-op advertising dollars.

"We were able to reinvest this rebate money into more expensive advertising for the salon," says George. "We purchased a couple of radio spots during a slack period that really boosted business. This is the second year we are using the rebate program and we already are talking about how to utilize the co-op dollars."
