Postcards Postcards From Nashville
reflections from the ITA World Expo

The Indoor Tanning Association held its World Expo 2001 at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Oct. 25-27. In its second year in existence, the Expo floor boasted more than 700 booths and was home to thousands of attendees looking for the newest equipment and products for the upcoming tanning season.

With the uncertain economy and the unfortunate events of Sept. 11, some salon owners opted not to make the trip to Nashville. However, a quick poll of vendors during and after the Expo revealed that the salon owners who did make the trip were eager to purchase new equipment, products and supplies for the '02 season. Additionally, we spoke with hundreds of attendees who expressed optimism for the upcoming year. For many, the key to their success will be innovative marketing mixed with superior products and excellent customer service.

Among the many Expo highlights were the John Abat International/California Tan party at the Wildhorse Saloon in downtown Nashville, Oct. 25 and the Kool & The Gang Concert at the Opryland Hotel, Oct. 26.

For those of you who were unable to attend the Expo, the following pages provide a glimpse of the happenings on the Expo floor.

Here's to a successful season.
