Solar Millennium Explosion 2000
Four Seasons Event A Smashing Success
by Donald L. Smith
Despite snow and inclement weather, more than 250 salon professionals visited 23 booths at Four Seasons Sales & Service's Solar Millennium Explosion 2000 Jan. 21-22 in Nashville, Tenn. This was the first year for the symposium, dedicated to further education in every aspect of the tanning industry. LOOKING FIT was proud to be the only trade magazine in attendance, bringing readers photos and information from the event.
In addition to the 23 vendors at the symposium, attendees also were treated to a myriad of various educational opportunities including: merchandising your salon hosted by John Alexander of Supre; positively outrageous service hosted by Dave Holtgrewe of Four Seasons; keeping your tanning equipment maintained all year long hosted by Tony Lacy of Four Seasons; upgrading your customers into bigger equipment hosted by Eric Haynes of Sun Ergoline; eye protection, the importance of wearing it hosted by Brenda Fishbaugh of Eye Pro; marketing techniques every salon owner can use hosted by Jerry Deveney of Sun Ergoline; lamp logic, learn the difference of tanning lamps hosted by Dan Shine of Light Sources; and, increasing your lotion selling techniques hosted by Paul Germek of Suntanning Association for Education;
In addition, S.A.E. also held its certification class that was attended by more than 150 salon professionals. John Abaté International spokesmodels Kevin Light and Kiley Wirtz also were available on the show floor Saturday, Jan. 22 to autograph posters and have photos taken. Each attendee of the Solar Millennium Explosion 2000 received a number of free gifts as well as free admission to the Wildhorse Saloon Friday, Jan. 21.
