On November 10, the County Department of Health passed an under-18 ban in Howard County, Md. Baltimore County Council was entertaining thoughts of the same type of ban. Several health organizations and personnel were supporting the bill; however, on November 16, the ban was voted down, five votes to two.
Among the reasons for striking down the bill were concerns about enforcement and parental choice.
Maryland has other counties that are currently discussing under-18 bans as well.
