Faraje Kharsa, the founder of iTAN Solariums, plans to expand using other trailblazing franchise concepts as his inspiration for growth.

“I intend to do for tanning what was achieved for video rentals in the 80s and coffee retailing in the 90s,” Kharsa says. “iTAN has set high standards for the industry, which will be universally accepted while simultaneously establishing ourselves as the market leader with a measured and controlled process of tanning.”

Liberty Harper-Simonsen, iTAN Solarium’s newly hired vice president of franchise operations is in charge of local sales goals for iTAN—already the largest tanning salon chain in San Diego—while simultaneously focusing on southern California for future expansion of the franchise.

“The San Diego market is far from saturated and iTAN’s expansion is a chance for would-be business owners to get in on the ground floor of a growing, dynamic and fun franchise company,” Harper-Simonsen says. “Our goal is to have iTAN sought after by investors, lenders, customers, vendors and employees as a valued partner that gives back to the community and creates jobs.”

Depending on the location, the required investment to start an iTAN Solarium franchise ranges from $264,000 to $589,000.
