Fabutan Sun Tan Studios kicks off its annual "Ray of Hope" fundraising campaign for breast-cancer research to coincide with "Breast Cancer Awareness" month.

During October, Fabutan locations across Canada will be asking customers to give the one in nine Canadian women who are diagnosed with breast cancer a "Ray of Hope"—a $10 donation to the Vitamin D Society for breast-cancer research. In return, clients will receive an additional 125 minutes on any tanning package.

"We are thrilled to be able to provide the Vitamin D Society with these annual donations, as it gives Canadian researchers the opportunity to conduct research trials on the effect of increased vitamin D levels on breast cancer," says Doug McNabb, president of Fabutan. "It's gratifying to know that researchers are helping more than 22,400 Canadian women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer in Canada through their findings."

Over the past seven years, Fabutan’s "Ray of Hope" campaign has contributed more than $344,000 to breast-cancer research.
