There’s no such thing as bad press, right? That’s never been more true, according to a recent article from CNNMoney.com, "Even Bad Reviews Boost Sales."
Even products and services that receive poor reviews online can see a jump in sales. Why? Because consumers search for user reviews when in the market for an item, and have even ranked reviews as the most desired feature of an online shopping site. (If you’ve ever visited Amazon.com or Wal-Mart.com just to read reviews for a specific TV, computer, set of headphones or shoes before making your purchase from a BestBuy or Target store, you’re behaving like the majority of other consumers.)
But requiring shoppers to leave your site to find reviews is a risky chance to take. Why not post reviews right to your site? Some small businesses are turning to inexpensive software to be able to offer a review feature. (Try PowerReview Express.)
